Smoothies

I’ve been on a smoothie kick lately, thanks to my friend, Emily.  I have always stayed away from smoothies, because I didn’t think they were worth the points.  But, I’ve found a relatively low point way to make them and am finding that it is a really good way to curb my appetite in the afternoons.  Here’s how I’ve been making them:

3/4 c. of frozen fruit (Trader Joe’s berry blend)
1 container (individual serving) of Fiber One vanilla (or key lime) yogurt
1/3 of a banana
1/2 c. milk
1 T. wheat germ

Just blend it all together in the blender and it comes out great!  I like my smoothies to be the consistency of a milkshake, and that’s how this turns out for me.  And, I’m figuring it out to be about 4 pts.

Setting a Goal

img_2704.jpg

Everyday, when I am opening my underwear drawer, a pair of pants stare at me from the top of my dresser. This pair of pants is the next one I want to cross off my list as an official fit. I’ve already crossed off one pair since re-joining the Weight Watchers bandwagon. When the pair staring at me easily fit, I will cross them off the list and add another, smaller pair of pants to my dresser top. This is somehow helping me visualize my progress. And, because the goals I’m setting are small steps in the right direction, I’m not overwhelmed with the end goal.
