A Little About This Lifetimer

Like many people, I never struggled with weight before I had my first child.  I could eat whatever I wanted.  However, all of that changed after the birth of my son (who is now 8).  All of the sudden, my eating (which I thoroughly enjoy doing) affected the way I looked.  In 2003, I decided to try weight watchers on my  own without the meetings.  My Mom was doing Weight Watchers and she shared her materials with me.  I successfully lost weight, but as soon as I lost it I slowly began eating in the same patterns I had before the weight loss.  So, understandably, the weight crept back on.  In March of 2004, I decided to really join Weight Watchers, and I lost 30 lbs., maintained, and earned the achievement of Lifetime membership.  Toward the end of that year, I found out I was pregnant with my second child, and was so thankful I had lost the weight prior to becoming pregnant.  I gave birth to my second son, and within a few weeks, started back on Weight Watchers.  I was able to lose the weight pretty quickly because I was also nursing, so I was proud of myself, when, after 9 months I had lost all but 7 or 8 pounds of the baby weight ( I had 50 to lose!).  Then, we moved in May of 2006.  Soon after,  I stopped nursing, and the weight began to creep back up on me.  Now, I don’t want to give you the impression that I consider myself to be obese.  That is not the case.  But, my weight fluctuates very easily and I gained 20 pounds in the span of a year.  Because I am able to gain weight so quickly, I have realized that I have to live a lifestyle that will prevent this.  So, in 2008, I decided to regain control of this area of my life.  I went to Weight Watchers, after not weighing in for 5 months, and I found that I was 15 pounds over my goal weight.  Since January, I have been slowly but surely losing the weight, and I am hoping to keep it off this time.  Maybe this blog will hold me accountable!  By the way, leave a comment if you’ve been reading!  I’d love to know who is out there reading and following me in this journey!  And, I’d love for you to join me in the journey and share your tips, as well!

I also do WW on my own and it is working - am down 45lbs to 213 on my way to 175. You need to still record your points and get support but it can be done

i’ve enjoyed reading your posts. I’m doing WW on my own this time and am really HUNGRY!! I’m 43, have had 2 boys and never really gained any weight from the pregnancies. I’ve been very depressed and have gained 25 lbs since I got married 11 yrs ago. I was 130 then and was too big for my height. I’ve always felt fat and dissatisfied with myself. I’m really having a hard time staying within my point rage this time.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! I was surprised to see this comment awaiting moderation, because I have been silent on the blog for so long. I’ve found that when I find the right food choices, I feel less hungry. And, the key for me is to not let myself get hungry. That means low point snacks throughout the day. Also, when I’m eating high fiber foods along with some source of protein, I find that I am less hungry. Don’t give up! You can do it!
